Our Story

We are located in South Woodslee (recently relocated from Ruthven). We are family owned and family operated for over 30 years.

It all started in the 80’s when Florence and Kevin Dresser (a mother-son duo), needed some honey bees for pollination for the fields of butternut squash. Instead of renting the honey bees, they decided that they were just going to purchase them.

Around 1991-1992, Florence loved nature, and everything about it. Her hobby of beekeeping and gardening turned into a small honey business, and she shared that beautiful passion with her son Kevin.

In 2009, Florence passed away, but Kevin kept her memory alive and continued the family business.

In 2013, Kevin’s granddaughter Darian, started working with him part time in the business. He showed her the ropes, the ins and outs, shared his mothers passion with her. Darian has worked side by side her grandfather full time since 2014. Learning all about the honey bees, how to manage them, how to catch swarms, how to care for them, how to harvest honey, how to cut comb, and everything in bee-tween (haha) including the business side of things.

In April of 2023, Darian took over the family business. Carrying on her family’s small business and legacy. Darian works this business full time, but her grandfather is still by her side helping her out. Darian’s husband Andrew, and there three children are always helping in the family business.

If you’ve seen us at any event, chances are good you’ve seen one the kids helping out!

It all started with a passion and a dream. To this day we are living for that passion and the dream, that started with Great-Grandmother and her butternut squash.
